California Adaptive Rowing Program

We are a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to provide instruction and training for   competitive and recreational opportunities in the sport of rowing to physically and intellectually challenged individuals.  Participation in physical activities is essential to prevent people with disabilities from surrendering themselves to confinement.  Participants gain self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment.

Volunteer opportunities

Volunteer duties:

1.      To help set up and transport boats and equipment from the storage facility to the dock and to the water.

2.      To help disabled people transfer into and out of the boats

3.      To wash and return boats and equipment to the storage facility

4.      No rowing experience required however Experienced rowers may be called upon to occasionally row in 2X or 4+ with disabled rowers

There is some lifting involved and it is a water sport so you must not mind getting a little wet. We need 2 volunteers per session. All sessions are approximately 2 hours in length.
